Why is this solar eclipse particularly noteworthy?
It is considered particularly Important as the Sun rules Leo i.e. the Sun is the planet assigned to the zodiac sign Leo so there is a special connection there already.
At the moment of the eclipse, it is like the light or the spotlight is momentarily turned off in more than one way and this translates to the area of our life where this eclipse takes place in each person’s natal chart as well as on a collective level.
Like the zodiac sign of Leo likes to be the centre of attention and why not indeed as Leo’s are meant to shine. The light being turned off with the eclipse is a time to reassess one’s role in “shining” fully in life. Where do you need to step up in life in a bold way and without fear, to believe in yourself and lead from the heart without the negative ego getting in the way.

Like a new moon it is always better to wait and in the case of a new moon then wait for about 3 days but with a solar eclipse which after all is a super powered new moon then bide your time a bit longer if you can without missing out on valuable opportunities (contradiction I know). If you really have to do something like sign an important document then please try and wait a few days before doing so. Sometimes life just gets in the way so don’t fret or overthink but take whatever cautions you can.

The total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026 highlights collective themes of leadership, political authority, and the collapse of ego-driven power structures. Landing shortly after the lunar nodes shifted into the Aquarius North Node and Leo South Node axis which took place in July and will continue until March 2028. The Aquarius Leo axis signifies a collective turning point.

There could be themes around leadership and who actually leads, who is seen and how is authority actually granted and given and under what basis.
Because the Sun is the planet assigned to Leo and the Sun itself is obscured by the Moon during the eclipse it is like there is a temporary blackout creating a blinding or testing period for rulers whether they be royal or constitutional ones such as prime ministers, presidents, religious leaders etc.
Think also of how society also seems to applaud celebrities and how many times the newspapers and magazines are filled with the lives of so-called celebrities and media “stars”. They are often portrayed as “royalty” in a way. Are they real role models for us or are they just a distraction whilst we don’t see what is really going on.
