Saturn and Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees in Aries - this is massive!
The zodiac sign of Aries will be the star of the show not only in 2026 but the beginning of a generational shift into new territory. This is truly a historical moment in time coming up for us all.
Neptune and Saturn are going to be making an exact conjunction at 0 degrees in the zodiac sign of Aries on
20th February 2026 at 16:54 hours UT (London).
After extensive manual research using astrological software (I don’t use A1) I found that this conjunction hasn’t occurred at 0 degrees since 4361 BC.
This was a time of pre-history which makes this conjunction even more important and auspicious. We are potentially working with a new new age.
Let’s firstly break down the meaning of each planet and Aries before putting it all together as this may help explain the significance of this Saturn Neptune conjunction.
About Saturn
Saturn is the planet that teaches us. It is the planet of authority, self-mastery ,maturity, respect , responsibility and hard work through effort. Saturn can be stern and serious but Saturn can also give us pragmatism, ambition, dignity and endurance. We may feel frustrated by Saturn’s influence and held back somehow with perhaps at times feeling almost fearful; as it may seem that Saturn wants to contain and control us when in fact it can often give us much needed structure in our lives. Saturn is about the material world. It is the planet of structure, boundaries, lessons to be learnt, authority, rules and traditions. Saturn on a mundane level represents the law, the police, rules and regulations, the establishment and government and collectively how much freedom a country/state or society etc permits or denies itself.
About Neptune
Neptune is the planet of sensitivity, spirituality, creativity, empathy, compassion, dreams and surrendering to the divine. Neptune is about spirituality but it can also bring illusions, delusions and confusion when we blur the boundaries too much - The blurring and clouding of reality. Neptune is however capable of great creativity that transcends the material world. Neptune mirrors times of loss, letting go, release, or dissolving/disintegrating. It is very much a smoke and mirrors planet. Its domain is by nature nebulous and under its auspices come all those things which defy definition and clarity – gossip, fraud, scandal, lies, public deception and delusion. Neptune encapsulates the hopes and dreams of a nation or group – their image of the ideal society and its own self-image which might include all the icons and idealized images of heroic figures or saviors which are essential to the life of any nation. Neptune describes where a people can find inspiration and spiritual enlightenment, its visionaries, prophets and enlightened thinkers, although often it ends up encapsulating the collective desires for escape from reality and a group’s image of itself, however false. Also, in mundane astrology Neptune can be associated with war - Neptune can glamorize whatever sign it is in.
About Aries
Aries is the start of the zodiac. Aries is about independence, assertion, personal will and dynamism. Aries are generally the trailblazers of the zodiac being leaders and not so much followers, preferring to employ positive action in an assertive way. Aries is also about uniqueness and self-identity. They are focused on themselves but that shouldn’t be confused with selfishness. Aries has a boldness, courage and vitality with a pioneering spirit. Aries can also however be headstrong, impulsive, impatient and willful. The planet assigned to Aries in the zodiac is Mars and Mars was considered the God of war in Roman mythology. Say no more!
About Saturn in Aries
Saturn can bring much needed structure to the impulsive Aries. Helping to teach Aries to be more patient and disciplined even though Aries may not like this. Saturn can help Aries with self-mastery and controlled willpower that is manifested in a positive way. Teaching Aries to be more strategic with turning Aries bold and courageous plans into something that can have a longer-term result. Aries may feel that Saturn is pouring the cold onto ideas and Aries may want to rebel against this however new ideas need to be built on solid foundations. Saturn can teach Aries about self-responsibility and perseverance and standing up for the individual and not to be so fearful of taking the initiative.
About Neptune in Aries
Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion, confusion and loss but also of spirituality and the divine and perhaps even the connection with God. Neptune can help show us what true spirituality is about and how it affects us as individuals as Aries asks us that we should. Neptune in Aries at first seems a strange combination however Neptune can help loosen and soften the more forthright qualities of Aries and Saturn can help Aries manifest something more tangible than just its fiery assertive nature.
Empathy with courage. Dissolving the impetus and drive to fight wars.
What zodiac sign was before Aries?
Pisces
This is relevant as Pisces is the end of a cycle as it is the end of the zodiacal year. Pisces is a water sign. Intuitive and empathic. It is changeable and like a chameleon it can change and go with the flow perhaps too much and be a bit too “flaky”. Blurring its own and others boundaries and being susceptible to illusion, delusion, fantasy and deceit. Pisces has a dreamlike quality to it. So, as you can see Aries has a completely different energy to Pisces.
So let us dig in more about the significance of this Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries.
Firstly, what is a conjunction?
When 2 planets align together, we call this a conjunction. The energy of the 2 planets in one zodiac sign is a blending of archetypes of “energies”. The themes of a conjunction in itself, are also about the beginning of a new cycle. The 2 energies of the planets involved combine powerfully as one and they never act individually but as a unit.
Added to this is whether the 2 planets that are conjunct each other “get along with each other”. Sometimes there is an ease and flow between the 2 planets conjunct each other with the planets feeling comfortable so up close and personal but other planets conjunct each other can feel worlds apart and have nothing in common and them being side by side so to speak can be very unsettling. Saturn and Neptune are 2 such planets that aren’t natural partners together as Saturn likes to control and contain and Neptune doesn’t as Neptune wants the exact opposite! Added to this mix is the fact that Aries doesn’t like to be controlled as Aries wants to do its own thing so we have a potentially volatile mix (Aries being a fire sign and a cardinal sign which means Aries instigates/actions and begins whereas Saturn is wanting to slow down the pace and Neptune is generally confused as to what it wants to do!). Tension between fact and illusion, reality and deception. Saturn wants hard core facts, down to earth material things. Neptune is about the unseen as opposed to Saturn as more visible.
The significance of how close Saturn and Neptune get together
The degree of exactitude will be at 0 degrees 45 seconds of Aries. There being 30 degrees in each zodiac sign and there are 60 seconds in each degree.
This 0 degrees of Aries is called the Aries Point as it is where the zodiac begins. It heralds new beginnings, new potential and pioneering advancements. This Aries point of 0 degrees is used by Astrologers to help indicate world events of all kinds as it is often linked to major global shifts that go beyond the personal and individual and yet affect the personal and individual.
How important is this 0 degrees of Aries?
0 degrees Aries has the strongest and more undiluted expression of Aries. It is like a “newbie” getting a handle on the new energy it is now in, taking a while to adjust and fully settle into a more nuanced expression of being Aries. 0 degrees of Aries is full of fighting spirit, assertion and a heavy dose of fiery, war like energy. 0 degrees is a degree of infinite possibility but also it has a sense of instability, chaos and disruption.
The struggle that the 0 degrees of a zodiac sign and in particular going from Pisces at 29 degrees (29 degree is called and anaretic degree which is also an important degree) to Aries is particularly strong as the new fresh energy begins to unfold. 29 degrees and 0 degrees both hold immense power marking the end of a significant cycle (29 degrees) and the beginning of a new cycle (0 degrees)
What does the planet Mars associated with Aries bring to the party?
Each zodiac sign has a ruling planet that governs so to speak the energies of each zodiac sign. Aries has Mars as its ruling planet and in Roman mythology Mars was thought to be the God of war as we have talked about before. In Mundane astrology Mars is about the forces that hold a country together or drive it apart. The fear or threat of war doesn’t matter which as a means of controlling the populace.
What happens when Saturn and Neptune get together?
When Saturn and Neptune get together, we tend to witness the death or loss of ideals to see through illusions and reveal foundational truths. We may experience a crisis of faith as what has been before turns out not to have been what we thought it was but this can also give us a deeper spirituality that stands the test of time. Aries as we know represents new beginnings and a new hope and optimism as Aries is like the child full of hope and possibilities for the future. Saturn can help ground Neptune and to manifest religious beliefs into practical action. Saturn can also give some much-needed structure and discipline to Neptune’s lack of tethers.
Hence these are just a few of the ideas of how Saturn and Neptune work together:-
The fusing of the spiritual with the material
The failing and dissolving of fake realities, unworkable, unrealistic ideals, and fake spirituality
Combining Idealism with practical reality
Fighting for personal sovereignty and standing up for our own personal needs as individuals
Either way it signals a turning point and a new direction or even a new “New Age” that is full of possibilities if we sow the seeds wisely. Stepping up and being accountable for our own personal power will be important at this time.
We can be constructive or destructive – and the choice is always ours!
How can history help us give us an idea of what it could mean for us?
With Astrology we look at cycles and what happened previously in history whether this be a few short years ago or way back in time. History can help us make sense of the present and to help us navigate the future.
Neptune has been dipping its toe into Aries but dips back into Pisces at various points this year (2025) before finally going fully into Aries next year in February 2026 after 14 years of being in Neptune. As a reminder the date when Neptune and Saturn in Aries will be together at total exactitude will be on
20th February 2026 at 16:54 London time.
Neptune hasn’t visited the sign of Aries since the between 1861 to 1875 approx. so a significant shift in energy as Neptune comes back round to Aries. It takes Neptune approximately 165 years to cycle through all the zodiac signs.
When was Saturn and Neptune in Aries last together at 0 degrees?
The only recorded time that Saturn and Neptune were both together in the sign of Aries and at 0 degrees of Aries was in 4361 BC. It should be noted that the date of 4361 BC is based on a projection of existing data. However, I think we can see what an important time we are living in to have such a rare occurrence.
There were other times in history that Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Aries but at later degrees of Aries and not the 0 degrees we have coming up in February 2026. Saturn and Neptune did also make a near early degree of Aries conjunction in Aries in 594 BC. (at 2 degrees 4 minutes) Again with the caveat that this date is based on projected data.
What events happened when Neptune was last in Aries and Saturn was in Aries?
When Neptune was last in Aries, which was during 1861 to 1865, there was civil war in America.
When Saturn was last in Aries was in 1999 the end of the 20th century a time when we were all worried that computers would crash and planes fall out of the sky as a result and there was a fear in a way of what 1st January 2000 could bring! As we felt that we were about to enter unchartered territories and, in a way we were, as of course 1999 was the end of the 20th century.
Listing all the events that occurred during these times may be better in another blog perhaps as I don’t want to make this blog longer than it needs to be. This is an Aries trait to want to get information out as early as possible without delay!
What this means for everybody
The beginning of going back to the beginning? and not being consumed by fakeness and false illusions but re-embracing the old traditions that have stood the test of time (Saturn is also about traditions and Saturn - “Father Time” as he is known as in mythology). Although there may be a period of feeling lost in the fog and feeling a loss of faith with confusion and uncertainty.
This conjunction asks us to bring truth back into action and take responsibility for ourselves once again.
Do the right thing and act with truth and integrity even if others aren’t doing the same.
Act with courage, fortitude but also be empathic and compassionate
The move of Neptune in Pisces into Neptune in Aries certainly represents at the very least a generational shift from passive idealism into a more embodied vision and courageous faith.
It may take a while for events to fully unfold in the world on a global level but as individuals we may already begin to feel that they are already unfolding in front of our eyes.
